* Amy Stapleton receives The Association Scholarship

Amy Stapleton of Community and Resource Development/PIO has received a $1,200 scholarship from The Association of Washington Community and Technical College Administrators. The scholarship will cover tuition, books and other related costs as she works toward her goal of earning an Interdisciplinary Studies - Social Sciences degree from Central Washington University. The CWU degree will allow Stapleton to personalize her course of study according to her individual interests and professional/educational aspirations.  She plans to focus her studies on business and marketing and after graduating, putting her expertise to work right here at Shoreline CC.  Stapleton completed her transfer degree at SCC Winter Quarter and will walk in this year's commencement.

"This scholarship means a lot to me.  I went to Central 20 years ago and didn't finish my degree then -- I started working at the college instead.  This feels great!"

The Association offers four scholarships a year; one for a student and three for employees.  The employee scholarship program is available to classified, professional or confidential exempt employees who are qualified and motivated to continue their education and through that education, strengthen the Washington Community and Technical College System.
