Below is an alphabetical listing of research databases that you can use to search for articles from newspapers, magazines, and scholarly journals. Click on the first letter of the name of the database you are interested in, or simply browse the listing.

Alternatively, you can also view research databases by subject.

AltLaw.org provides searchable access to US Federal case law. Currently the contents of this datbase include Supreme Court cases from 1759 to the present (with a brief lag on the addition of new cases), and US Court of Appeals from the 1990's to the present (start date varies with circuit; a brief lag on the addition of new cases exists). New cases are being added daily.

CINAHL Full Text is the authoritative resource for nursing and allied health professionals, students, educators and researchers. This Database contains indexing for more than 2,800 journals, as well as full-text articles.

Classical Music Library is the world's largest multi-label database of Classical music recordings for listening and learning in libraries.Classical Music Library includes recordings of music written from the earliest times (e.g., Gregorian Chant) to the present, including many contemporary composers. Repertoire ranges from vocal and choral music, to chamber, orchestral, solo instrumental, and opera.

CQ Researcher is often the first source that librarians recommend when researchers are seeking original, comprehensive reporting and analysis on issues in the news. Founded in 1923 as Editorial Research Reports, CQ Researcher is noted for its in-depth, unbiased coverage of health, social trends, criminal justice, international affairs, education, the environment, technology, and the economy. Reports are published weekly in print and online 44 times a year by CQ Press, a division of Congressional Quarterly Inc. Each single-themed, 12,000-word report is researched and written by a seasoned journalist. The consistent, reader-friendly organization provides researchers with an introductory overview; background and chronology on the topic; an assessment of the current situation; tables and maps; pro/con statements from representatives of opposing positions; and bibliographies of key sources.

The Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ) is a collection of publicly available, peer-reviewed and quality-controlled scholarly journals on a wide variety of topics.

eBrary is a collection of 20,000 full-text online books on a range of subjects. Please use these books on campus and help us test them.

An online service to access educational resources previously available through AskERIC. Get more than 2000 lesson plans, links to online education information and a search interface to the ERIC database, a national information system supported by the U.S. Department of Education.

This multi-disciplinary database provides full text for nearly 4,500 journals, including full text for more than 3,600 peer-reviewed titles. PDF backfiles to 1975 or further are available for well over one hundred journals, and searchable cited references are provided for 1,000 titles. Academic Search Premier is updated on a daily basis.

JSTOR provides full-text articles from over 400 scholarly reviewed journals in a wide range of fields within the arts and sciences. JSTOR is not a current issues database. Because of JSTOR's archival mission, there is a gap, typically from 1 to 5 years, between the most recently published journal issue and the back issues available in JSTOR.

King County Library serves the communities of King County outside of Seattle (though Seattle residents can borrow materials from KCLS, too!). 43 branches around the county help to make KCLS one of the highest circulating library systems in the country. A service of the National Library of Medicine, provides access to over 12 million MEDLINE citations back to the mid-1960's and additional life science journals. PubMed includes links to many sites providing full text articles and other related resources.

SIRS Renaissance Current Perspectives on the Arts & Humanities provides dynamic information on Architecture & Design, Culture, Literature, Multimedia, Music, Performing Arts, Philosophy & Religion and Visual Arts.

Theatre in Video contains more than 250 definitive performances of the world's leading plays, together with more than 100 film documentaries, online in streaming video - more than 500 hours in all. This release contains 279 titles, representing hundreds of leading playwrights, actors and directors. Included are landmark performances such as The Iceman Cometh, Awake and Sing, Dom Juan, Bérénice, Long Day's Journey Into Night, Playboy of the Western World, Krapp's Last Tape, and the complete works of Shakespeare as produced by the BBC and other theatrical companies.
