The Media Center offers several services
for students of Shoreline Community College. The Media Center also sells some commonly-used
media items at the media counter. Read on for more information.
Services for Students
- 8 DVD/VHS viewing stations are available for your use in the library. These are especially helpful for video
items in the library collection that are unavailable for out-of-library use or are course reserves with limited
check-out time. Have a group that needs to view a video togehter? Try one of the library's
Group
Study Rooms;
- 2 Cassette tape listening stations and 2 CD listening stations;
- 4 video editing stations (prior training or demonstrated experience needed);
- Dubbing of video or audio materials (pricing varies; contact the media
department for more info);
- Black and white transparency creation (first five are free; $.50 for each afterwards). Bring copies of
the items you'd like to have made into transparencies (copies should be on regular white, 8.5" x 11" paper).

- Mini DV tapes for cam corders: $5.00
- Mini DVD-RW discs for Handy-Cam: $4.50
- DVD+RW discs: $2.00
- CD-R discs: $.50
- VHS Tape or DVD of Commencement Ceremonies: $15.00
- World language CDs for many of SCC's foreign language classes (price varies depending on the class): $2.00 - $5.00
- Dry erase markers (for white boards in group study rooms or classrooms: $1.50
- Floppy disks: $1.00
- Scantron cards: $.25
