* SCC Baseball Drops Three out of Four to Edmonds CC, But Breaks Losing Streak

mensbaseball2011.jpgThe Dolphin Baseball Team defeated Edmonds CC on Friday to halt their 12 game losing streak, but lost 3 out of four to the Tritons in the final series of the year for Shoreline CC. SCC won Friday, 9-7, in a game going 10 innings as the Dolphins scored two run in the 10th for the win. SCC dropped the other Friday game, 10-0. SCC lost twice on Saturday, 3-2 and 7-1. SCC ended the long season, 3-21 in the league, 9-30 overall.

The Shoreline Community College Baseball Team’s struggles continue as they dropped four games to Everett Community College on Saturday and Sunday. Saturday were bitter losses at Memorial Stadium in Everett, as Alex Kelly pitched a gem of a game, allowing 3 hits and having 6 strikeouts over 8.3 innings, but losing the game on a balk in the bottom of ninth in a 1-0 defeat. SCC also lost the second by the score of 4-1 after leading early 1-0. Kacy Miyasato doubled for the Dolphins in the second game.

 

The SCC squad is suffering through a 12 game losing streak, which includes four games by 1 run and one game by 2 runs. Shoreline is 2-18 in the tough NWAACC Northern Region and 8-27 overall. Everett moved to 16-4 in the region and 26-8 overall, and are ranked 5th in the NWAACC and in second place behind Bellevue College in the Northern region, BC is #1 ranked team in the NWAACC.

 

SCC will face rival Edmonds Community College next weekend in their final region series of the year. Edmonds is 22-14 on the season, 11-9 in the region, good enough for 3rd place. SCC plays at Edmonds on Saturday at 1 p.m. and comes back to Lower Woodland Park on Sunday for their final doubleheader of the year at 1 p.m. as well.

* The Week in Baseball

The SCC Baseball Team continues to struggle, dropping their second straight NWAACC Northern Region series to Skagit Valley College over the weekend, losing all four games to the Cardinals after dropping all four games to Douglas College last weekend. The Dolphins are in an 8 game losing streak and out of the contention for the NWAACC Northern Region Playoffs.

 

The Dolphins dropped two heartbreaking games to SVC on Saturday in Mount Vernon, WA, losing 1-0 and 3-2. On Sunday, at Lower Woodland Park, SCC lost 8-4 and 3-0.

Shoreline is 8-23 overall and 2-14 in the NWAACC Northern Region. The Dolphins take on Everett Community College next weekend in another NWAACC Northern Region series with SCC playing at Memorial Stadium in Everett on Saturday and coming back home to Lower Woodland on Sunday.

 

Skagit Valley moved to 17-16 on the year and 7-9 in the region. Everett CC is 21-8 on the year and 11-4 in the region and in second place.
