SCC Names Dean Viena As "Men's Basketball Player of the Week"
Shoreline Community College on Sunday named freshman Dean Viena as the SCC Men's Basketball Player of the Week. Viena is a sophomore forward from St. Louis High School in Aiea, HI.
Dean scored 24 points in two games for SCC this week along with 17 rebounds, 2 steals and 3 assists.
SCC lost two games in the NWAACC Crossover Tournament at Treasure Valley Community College in Ontario, WA over the weekend. SCC is now off until January 5 when they open NWAACC Northern Region play against Everett Community College at EVCC.

SCC Men's Basketball Ends Pre-Region Season With Loss To Clackamas:
The Shoreline Community College Men's Basketball Team dropped their last game of the non-region schedule on Saturday at the NWAACC Crossover Tournament in Ontario, OR at Treasure Valley Community College.
SCC lost 109-104 to the Cougars, who lead 55-49 at half-time. The game was lost at the free-throw line for SCC, as they shot only 42% (15-36). Clackamas scored 30 points from their free-throws, going 30 for 42.
Shoreline was led by Nahshon George with 20 points and 13 rebounds,
but George was 4-16 from the free-throw line. Craig Parks scored 15 for SCC and Abudul Mohamad 14, while Dean Viena added 13 points with 11 boards, Adam Johnson scored 12 with 13 rebounds and Isaac Wodajo scored 12 as well with 8 assists.
Shoreline finishes the non-region schedule at 1-8 and will face Everett Community College on January 5 at EVCC to open the region schedule.
SCC Men's Basketball Drops 123-96 Game To Big Bend
The Shoreline Community College Men's Basketball Team dropped a 123-96 game to Big Bend Community College on Friday afternoon at the NWAACC Crossover in Ontario, OR at Treasure Valley Community College.
The game was tight in the first half, and SCC only trailed 51-44 at half-time, but BBCC put up 72 points in the second half to win the game by 27 points.
Shoreline was led by Nahshon George, who scored 25 points and had 19 rebounds. Dean Viena and Devan Kohn added 11 points each and Russell Payne scored 10 to round out the double figure scoring for the Dolphins.
Shoreline shot only 36% for the game, while Big Bend shot 52%.
Shoreline is now 1-7 on the season and will face Clackamas Community College from Oregon this afternoon at Noon. Clackamas lost to Centralia College yesterday 62-52. CCC is 4-4 on the year. If SCC wins this game, they will play on Sunday, if they lose, then they are eliminated from the tournament.

SCC's Nahshon George Leads NWAACC In Rebounds
As the first month of the NWAACC Basketball Season is almost in the books, three SCC Men's Basketball Players are in the Top 20 Stats for the conference:
Nahshon George is #1 in the league in rebounds, with a 15.17 average per game, while he is also ranked #14 in scoring with a 18.83 average.
Abdul Mohamed is #11 in steals, with 15 for the season so far.
Isaac Sodajo is #17 in the NWAACC in Assists with a 4.29 average.
SCC finishes the non-region part of the schedule this upcoming weekend with a trip to Ontario, OR, to play in the NWAACC Crossover Tournament at Treasure Valley Community College. SCC faces Big Bend CC in the opening round next Friday.

Abdul Mohamed Named SCC Men's Basketball Player of the Week:
Shoreline Community College named freshman Abdul Mohamed the SCC Men's Basketball Player of the Week for December 2-9 on Saturday.
Mohamed scored 20 points, had 9 rebounds with 2 assists and 2 steals over two games, helping SCC win their first game of the season and building up a 17 point lead on Wenatchee Valley before losing the game late.
Abdul is a 6 foot guard from Franklin High School in Seattle.
SCC is 1-6 on the season and returns to play next Friday at Noon in the NWAACC Crossover Tournament in Ontario, WA at Treasure Valley Community College. SCC faces Big Bend Community College in the first round of the 8 team tournament.

SCC Men's Basketball Blows 17 Point Lead In Second Half In Loss:
The Shoreline Community College Men's Basketball Team blew a 17 point second half lead to Wenatchee Valley College Friday night in the SCC Gym to lose 113-108.
SCC was up 80-63 over the Knights about midway in the second half and watched the lead dwindle over the last 10 minutes as shooting woes continue for the Dolphins, hitting only 37% of their shots in the game and only hitting 7 of 39 attempts from the 3 point line.
Nahshon George scored 28 points with 21 rebounds for the Dolphins before fouling out of the game. Steve Del Veccio scored 17 followed by Issac Wodajo with 15, Adam Johsnon 14 and Abdul Mohamed with 10. Johnson also had 10 rebounds.
Jordan Perry scored 33 for Wenatchee Valley.
Shoreline falls to 1-6 on the season while WVC got their first win and now are 1-4. SCC will travel to the NWAACC Crossover in Ontario, OR next weekend. The Dolphins tip-off at Noon next Friday against Big Bend CC in the eight team tournament.
SCC Men's Basketball Tries To Make It To In A Row Tonight:
The Shoreline Community College Men's Basketball Team will try to make it two wins in a row tonight when they face Wenatchee Valley College in the SCC Gym.
The Dolphins defeated the Australian club team, "TEAM NPIRE" last night, 121-67 for their first win of the year. Wenatchee will come into the SCC Gym without a win themselves, being 0-4 on the early season.
SCC is now 1-5 on the season and this will be the last home game before the NWAACC Northern Region schedule begins in January. SCC travels to Treasure Valley CC next weekend for the NWAACC Crossover, where they will face Big Bend CC in the opening round of the 8 team tournament.
SCC is lead by sophomore Nahshon George, who is averaging 17 points a game with 14 rebounds. Steven Del Veccio and Taylor Nelson both average 14.33 points per game so far and Dean Viena is the only other double digit scorer at 11 points per game.
Game time tonight is 7:00pm in the SCC Gym.

SCC Men's Basketball Gets First Win 121-67 Over TEAM NPIRE
The Shoreline Men's Basketball Team won their first game of the year, 121-67 over the Australian club team, TEAM NPIRE, 121-67 at the SCC Gym on Thursday night.
SCC was in control from the start, as TEAM NPIRE was no match for the Dolphins full court press as they committed 34 turnovers. SCC deep bench also was a problem for the Aussy club team, as TEAM NPIRE only had 9 players and SCC used 15 players in the game. The SCC bench outscored TEAM NPIRE's bench 67-27.
Craig Parks led SCC with 25 points, making 7 of 15 three point shots. Steve Del Veccio added 17 and Nahson George and Abdul Mohamed scored 12 and 10. Bulla Viena pulled down 10 rebounds for the Dolphins.
The Dolphins are now 1-5 on the season and face Wenatchee Valley College tomorrow at 7:00pm in the SCC Gym.
SCC Basketball Plays Australia Today
The SCC Dolphins play Australia today in the SCC Gym. Team NPIRE, a club team from Australia will face the Lady Dolphins at 5:30pm and the male version of the club will take on the SCC Men's Basketball Team at 7:30pm.
The Lady Dolphins are coming into the game with a 4-1 record, but dropping their last game to Douglas College on Tuesday night, 58-41 in Vancouver, BC and only shooting 22% on the night.
The SCC Men's Basketball Team is 0-5 and come off a weekend of giving up 130 an 132 points to two talented Seattle based club teams, the Mountaineers and Blue Angels.

Nahshon George Named SCC Men's Basketball Player of the Week:
Sophomore Nahshon George has been named SCC Men's Basketball Player of the Week after averaging 18 points a game and 10 rebounds in two games for the Dolphins this week.
George scored 25 points and had 14 rebounds against the Blue Angels on Saturday and 11 points and 7 rebounds in a game against the Mountaineers on Friday.
SCC played to strong club teams this past weekend at the Pirate Classic in Port Angeles, WA. The club teams were made up mostly of former college basketball players from the Seattle area.
SCC faces an Australian Club team on Thursday, as they face TEAM NPIRE at 7:30pm for "International Night" in the SCC gym and then get back to NWAACC action on Friday, as Wenatchee Valley College will take on the Dolphins in a non-region game in the SCC Gym at 7:00pm.

The Shoreline Community College Men's Basketball Team dropped a 132-94 game to the Blue Angel Club team on Saturday night at the Pirate Classic, hosted by Peninsula College in Port Angeles, WA. The Blue Angels are made up of former college basketball from the local Seattle area.
Nahshon George had another strong game for SCC, as he scored 25 points and added 14 rebounds with 3 steals. Freshman Steve Del Veccio scored 20 points with 5 boards and 3 steals as well. Dean Viena was the only other Dolphin in double figures, with 14 points.
The Dolphins continue to have shooting problems, only hitting 35% for the game and only 24% from three point range.
Shoreline drops to 0-5 on the season and will return on home on Thursday night for "International Night", as the both SCC Basketball Teams take on "TEAM NPIRE" from Australia. Game time for the SCC Men's Team is 7:30pm.

SCC Men's Basketball Routed By Mountaineers
The Shoreline Community College Men's Basketball Team ran into a buzz saw at the "Pirate" Classic Tournament in Port Angeles, WA on Friday as the Mountaineer Club Team beat the Dolphins 130-78. The Mountaineers are made up of former college basketball players from the Seattle area including ex-Dolphin Avery Scharer from last year's SCC squad.
SCC had a cold shooting hand in the first half, only scoring 29 points and then in the second, the Mountaineers exploded for 73 points.
Shoreline was led by Russell Paynes and Isaac Wodajo with 13 points each and Nahshon George who scored 11 points with 7 rebounds. Dean Viena and Adam Johnson each scored 10 points for the Dolphins as well.
Shoreline plays another Seattle based club team tonight in the Blue Angels, who defeated Peninsula College last night 93-83 at the Pirate Classic. SCC is now 0-4 on the year.
