SCC Men's Basketball Defeats Northwest Indian College With Second-Half Comeback
The Shoreline Community College Men's Basketball Team erased a 12 point half-time deficient and came-back to win 103-94 on Wednesday night in Bellingham, WA against Northwest Indian College. 

SCC was down 52-30 at half-time, but pored in 63 points in the 2nd half to overcome the Eagles. SCC scored 33 points off turnovers in the game as their full court pressure forced 28 turnovers.

700_7469.JPGKadeem Stewart and Joshua Youngblood again led SCC's offense, as Stewart scored 31 points with 11 assists and 5 steals and Youngblood scored 26 points with 7 rebounds and 5 steals. Dean Viena and Abdul Mohamed scored 12 points each for the Dolphins while Zach Hafen scored 11 to close out the double figure scoring for SCC. 

SCC now stands at 3-14 for the season. SCC faces Everett Community College on Saturday in the SCC Gym at 4:00 PM to open the 2nd half of the NWAACC Northern Region schedule. SCC lost to EVCC on January 5 121-116 to open the region schedule.

SCC MEN'S BASKETBALL TEAM STRUGGLES, BUT INDIVIDUALS SHINE
The Shoreline Community College Men's Basketball Team has struggled to a 2-14 record this season, but individual talent has shined on the team.

SCC has three of the leading scorers in the NWAACC this season:

#7 - Kadeem Stewart at 21 points per game.
#9 - Joshua Youngblood at 20 points per game
#14 - Nahshon George at 18.5 points per game.

All three players are sophomores, while Stewart and Youngblood are transfers to Shoreline from other community colleges and only started play in January. George is a second year player for the Dolphins but has been out with a high ankle sprain in recent games.

George, from Hawaii, leads the NWAACC in rebounding, with a 14.33 average per game. While freshman Adam Johnson, from Ballard High School is #10 in the league, with a 8.21 average.

And Stewart, who played high school basketball at Rainer Beach, also leads the NWAACC assists, with a 7.43 average per game.

Shoreline as a team scores 100.50 points game this season, but so far, that has led to only 2 wins this season. 
SCC NAMES STEWART AND YOUNGBLOOD AS CO-PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
700_7469.JPGShoreline Community College Athletics named Kadeem Stewart and Joshua Youngblood as Co-Players of the Week for January 21-27.

Stewart, a sophomore transfer from Eastern Arizona CC, scored 43 points, with 12 assists, 9 rebounds and 5 steals in two games for Shoreline during the week.

Youngblood, a sophomore transfer from Highline Community College, scored 36 points (24 points from 3 point range), with 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 3 steals.700_7613_300_7094x.JPG

SCC went 0-2 during week, dropping games to Peninsula College (121-112) in Port Angeles, WA and a home game on Saturday to Whatcom, 102-81.

SCC is now 2-14 on the season and 1-6 in the NWAACC Northern Region. SCC travels to Northwest Indian College on Wednesday in a non-region game and then faces Everett Community College on Saturday in the SCC Gym at 4:00 pm to open the second half of the region schedule.
Whatcom CC Defeats Dolphins 102-81 In SCC Gym
The Shoreline Community College Men's Basketball Team dropped a 102-81 game to the Whatcom Community College Orcas in the SCC Gym on Saturday afternoon in NWAACC Northern Region action.

SCC played well in the opening 10 minutes, with 7 lead changes and 5 ties early in the game, but WCC pulled away in the second part of the first half to lead 51-37 at half and the Orcas put another 51 points up in the second half to lead the game by 34 at one point and to win the game by 21 points.

SCC was out rebounded 56-33, as the Dolphins continue to play without NWAACC leading rebounder, Nashon George, who has a high ankle sprain.

Joshua Youngblood Named SCC Men's Basketball Player of the Week
700_6142.JPGJoshua Youngblood has been named the Shoreline Community College Men's Basketball Player of the Week for January 14-20. In two games, Youngblood scored 47 points, with 30 against Skagit Valley College on Wednesday night and then 17 on Saturday against the #1 ranked Edmonds Community College team.

Youngblood, a transfer for Highline Community College has average  20.80 points per game in 5 games since he became eligible to play after Christmas break. He has averaged 5 three pointers made each game since becoming active.

SCC dropped both games this past week, losing to Skagit Valley on the road 112-108 and then dropping a 121-93 game to Edmonds.

SCC is 2-12 on the season and 1-4 in the NWAACC Northern Region. SCC has two games this week, Wednesday at Peninsula College and at home on Saturday vs Whatcom Community College at 4:00pm.
SCC Men's Team Routed By Edmonds Community College
The Shoreline Community College Men's Basketball Team took on the #1 ranked team in the NWAACC on Saturday and came away with a 121-93 loss to Edmonds Community College.

700_6142.JPGEDCC took the early lead and never looked back, as they never trailed in the game and pushed out to a 60-38 lead at half-time. SCC did fight back in the 2nd half, cutting a 31 point Edmonds lead down to 9 points with about 9 left in the game. but EDCC shook off the SCC charge and went on to a 28 point win.

SCC playing short handed, without the services of the NWAACC leading rebounder in Nahshon George, out with a ankle sprain, was led700_5475sc.jpg by Joshua Youngblood with 17 points and Kadeem Stewart with 16. Stewart also dealt out 10 assists. 5 other Dolphins scored in double figures.

Edmonds moves to 15-2 on the season and 5-0 in the NWAACC Northern Region. The struggling Dolphins fall to 2-14 and 1-4. 

Shoreline plays at Peninsula College in Port Angeles, WA on Wednesday night and returns home next Saturday afternoon at 4:00 pm against Whatcom CC to conclude the first half of the region schedule.
Youngyblood Scores 30, But Not Enough As SCC Drops 112-108 Game To Skagit Valley
Joshua Youngblood scored 30 points for SCC on Wednesday night at Skagit Valley College, but it was not enough for the Dolphins as they lost a 112-108 game to the Cardinals.

700_6142.JPGYoungblood hit 11 of 17 shots, 7 for 11 from three point range in his big night. Nahshon George scored 18 for SCC with 16 rebounds and 2 steals in another good night for the sophomore center. Kadeem Stewart and Zachary Hafen scored 16 each and Dean Viena rounded out the double figure scoring for Shoreline by adding 13 points. 

Jackson Kirkpatrick scored 34 and Riley Newman added 31 for the Cardinals.

SCC lost the game on the freethrow line, hitting only 11 of 23 for 48% while SVC went 16-19 from the charity stripe.  SCC dominated most of the stats, Outscoring SVC on points from turnovers (23-11), 2nd chance points (17-0), rebounds (51-36) and points from the bench (37-20).

SCC falls to 2-11 on the season and 1-3 in the NWAACC Northern Region. Skagit moves to 8-9 overall and 1-3 in the region.

Shoreline faces rival and #2 ranked Edmonds Community College on Saturday in the SCC Gym at 4:00pm. ECC will enter the game with a 14-2 record, and 4-0 in the region.
SCC Names Kadeem Stewart And Adam Johnson As Co-Players of the Week For Men's Basketball
Shoreline Community College on Monday named sophomore transfer Kadeem Steward and freshman Adam Johnson as Co-Players of the Week for Men's Basketball during the week of January 6-13.

700_5475sc.jpgStewart, a sophomore transfer from Eastern Arizona CC, scored 25 and 27 points in two games this past week for SCC, with 11 rebounds, 9 assists and 2 steals.

Adam Johnson, a freshman from Ballard High School, had 22 points with 22 rebounds, 4 steals, 2 blocked shots and 1 assist in the two games.

SCC lost to Bellevue College on Wednesday night, 104-95, but got their300_5315.JPG first region win of the season on Saturday at Olympic College, 107 to 82.

Shoreline plays at Skagit Valley College on Wednesday at 7:00pm.

SCC Men's Basketball Routs Olympic College For 2nd Win of the Year:

700_6187.JPGThe Shoreline Men's Basketball Team finally broke through with the "System" on Saturday afternoon at Olympic College, as the Dolphins full-court style of play led to their second win of the season, a 107-82 victory over the Rangers on their home court.

Shoreline was led by Kadeem Stewart, who scored 27 points, pulled down 9 rebounds, had 4 assists and 2 steals. Josh Youngblood added 18 points for SCC. Nahshon George did not have a great night scoring (8 points) for SCC, but dominated on the boards with 16 rebounds, followed by Adam Johnson, who pulled down 14 rebounds with 10 points. Bulla Veina scored 10 points with 6 rebounds to round out the double digit scoring for the Dolphins.

The "System" forced 21 OC turnovers and SCC outscored Olympic 23-9 on turnover points. SCC out-rebounded OC 71-55.

Shoreline led 55-42 at half-time and outscored OC 52-40 in the second700_6142.JPG half.

Shoreline is now 2-10 on the season and 1-2 in the NWAACC Northern Region. Olympic falls to 1-11 overall and 0-3 in the region.

The Dolphins travel to Skagit Valley College on Wednesday to face the Cardinals in a 7:00pm game. SVC is 7-9 overall and 0-3 in the region. SCC is now tied with Whatcom for 5th place in the region.
SCC Drops Tough 104-95 Game To Bellevue
The  Shoreline Community College Men's Basketball Team loss a tough 104-95 game to Bellevue College on Wednesday night in the SCC Gym. The game had 3 lead changes and 7 ties.

SCC pulled within 3 points at 97-94 with about 2 minutes to go, but could only muster 1 more point  and had to foul to stop the clock, as BC pulled away in the final seconds. 

700_5475sc.jpgSCC was led by Kadeem Stewart who scored 25 points and had 5 assists. Nahshon George added 19 points with 8 rebounds, Josh Youngblood scored 16 and Adam Johnson rounded out the double figure scoring for SCC with 12 points.

SCC falls to 1-10 overall and 0-2 in the NWAACC Northern Region. Bellevue is 10-4 and 2-0.

Shoreline travels to Olympic College on Saturday to play the Rangers at 4:00 pm.

300_7870x.jpgKadeem Stewart made his debut game for SCC a memorable one, as the transfer from Eastern Arizona Community College scored 20 points, had 18 assists, 7 rebounds and 4 steals on Saturday night's loss to Everett Community College, 121-116.

Stewart was named SCC Player of the Week.

SCC plays Bellevue College on Wednesday night in the SCC Gym at 7:30pm.
SCC Men's Basketball Drops 121-116 Game To Everett CC
The Shoreline Community College Men's Basketball Team showed promise on Saturday night at Everett Community College before dropping a 121-116 game to the Trojans. 

SCC's new transfer players made an immediate impact on the Dolphins, as Josh Youngblood scored 23 points in his debut for the squad along with newbies Kadeem Stewart with 20 points and Joe Dickinson with 14. SCC had a 10 point lead in the late stages of the first half and led 64-60 at half-time. 

But SCC did not score in the first 4 minutes of the second half and allowed Everett to take the lead and Shoreline could not ever take control in the second half of the game.

300_5315.JPGNahshon George scored 19 for SCC before he fouled out with his second technical of the night and Adam Johnson scored 17. Johnson was a workhorse under the basket for SCC, as he brought down 18 rebounds.

Shoreline falls to 1-9 on the season and 0-1 in the NWAACC Northern Region. EVCC moves to 8-5 overall and 1-0 in the region.

The Dolphins face Bellevue College on Wednesday night in the SCC Gym at 7:30 pm. Bellevue is 9-4 overall and 1-0 in the region after defeating Olympic on Saturday, 87-55.
