New Student Orientation & Registration

Participating in orientation will maximize your ability to succeed in your studies, while avoiding unnecessary difficulties later. While orientations are not required to register for classes, we strongly recommend that you take part in one. Please select the option or options that best fit you.

General Orientations allow new students who have applied and received a student ID number to:

  • Complete an online orientation before attending the session
  • Attend the on-campus session and get advising from faculty
  • Register for classes

Bring your COMPASS test scores and student ID number.  This option requires 1-2 hours.

One Stop Orientations allow new students who have applied and received a student ID number to get everything done in one day.

 

New Students will:

  • take the COMPASS test
  • complete the online orientation
  • receive advising
  • register for classes

This option requires 3-4 hours.

Program Focused Orientations allow new students who have applied to the College, received a student ID number and decided on a major or area of interest to:

  • Complete an online orientation before attending the session
  • Attend the session and find out more information about program, major or area of interest, certificates and degrees.
  • Receive advising from faculty in the department or program.
  • Register for classes

This option requires 1-2 hours.
