Can I Afford College?
You'll find your dollars
go a long way at Shoreline Community College, making it
one of the best investments you can make in yourself. |
If you think the cost of going to college may
be beyond your reach, Shoreline's Financial Aid Office is here
to help. Financial assistance may include loans, scholarships,
grants and employment. Need-based student loans are generally
low-interest loans and do not have to be repaid until you are
finished with college. Scholarships and grants do not have to
be repaid. Part-time employment opportunities include work-study
jobs, usually on-campus, as well as community jobs which are
posted outside the
Job Connections Center Office.
In general, to be eligible for financial aid,
you must:
- Be a United States citizen or an eligible
non-citizen.
- Be enrolled in an eligible program that
leads to a college certificate or degree.
- Demonstrate financial need (not required
for some loans).
- Meet satisfactory academic progress requirements
and limitations.
If you are interested in seeking financial
aid, contact the Financial
Aid Office in 5200, FOSS
Building. The staff can discuss options with you and provide
you with financial aid forms. Because resources are limited and
there are deadlines for various types of aid, you are encouraged
to complete your financial aid application as soon as possible.
Ideally, begin the process in January for the following fall
quarter.
