Assistant Coach Lydia Young
Lydia Young joins the Shoreline Dolphins for the first year as an assistant coach. She previously coached at Ballard High School for the 2011-2012 season.
Coach Young was born in Detroit, Michigan. Her mother is Lisa Young, father is James Harris and has a younger brother James. Young was two-year team captain at Cooley High School and a two-year All-State honoree. As a senior she received All-Conference and team MVP honors.
She attended both Southeastern Illinois Community College and Moberly Area Community College. At Southeastern she helped the team to their fifth straight regional title. The team placed 6th in the 2008 national tournament.
Young also attended the University of Washington (2008-2010) where she played in 33 games for the Huskies, starting in 20. She averaged 11.5 points and 8 rebounds per game. Young graduated with honors and received a Bachelors in American Ethnic Studies.
