In this course, we will use arithmetic, basic geometry, graphing and introductory
statistics to study the earthquake (seismic) activity off our coastline. We live at
the boundary of two moving plates of the earth's broken crust; see why, how, where
and with what effects these plates interact. Specific topics include: earthquake speeds
and depths,geological processes that occur as our two plates interact; and tsunami
or seismic sea waves impacting our coasts.

a series of short essays that describe the cataclysmic Ice Age Flood events of thousands
of years ago. Central Washington was both carved out and built up as a result of these
enormous floods,and thus the region has the name Channeled Scablands. Specific topics
to be discussed, and about which we will write include: the geological history and
processes that occurred to produce the floods, contrasting normal river sediment features
with Ice Age Floods features, and the Ice Age Floods driving tour.

of Washington! Our math refresher focuses on the current earthquake (seismic) activity
off our coastline, where three tectonic plates interact. And our writing refresher
focuses on the cataclysmic Ice Age (10,000+ years ago) flood events of Central Washington
that both carved out and built up the landscape there.
