| Rosie Bellert |
Rosie Bellert, RDH, BS - Program Director
Rosie Bellert graduated in 1974 from Shoreline Community College Dental Hygiene Program and earned a Bachelor Degree at the University of Washington in 1981. She has practice traditional and restorative hygiene for that many years, her expertise and passion is in restorative practice. She worked with a University of Washington Kellogg Grant traveling to private dental practices throughout the state teaching expanded duties to dental assistants, hygienist and dentists. Rosie started her teaching career in the Shoreline Dental Hygiene Program shortly after graduation instructing in the restorative clinic. She has extensive experience in restorative dentistry and has also taught Dental Anatomy, Restorative Materials and Procedures and Advanced Pain Control. Rosie also teaches restorative skill with the EFDA program at Seattle Central Community College. Rosie received the 2011 Summer Institute award with the IPAC (International Education Advisory Committee). Students enrolled in the new 2011 study abroad program, "Oral Health Training in Bolivia: Increasing the Opportunity for Young Women Living in Poverty," will work in the Smiles Forever Dental Hygiene School in Cochabamba, Bolivia, the first and only dental hygiene training facility and clinic in Bolivia.
Rosie is currently the interim director of the program and clinical instructor for second year clinic. She is co-chair of SMODA and advocate of Dental Hygiene Association membership.

| Nikki Honey |
Nikki Honey, DDS
Dr. Honey graduated from the University of Washington School of Dentistry, and is a member of the Dental Alumni Association. Besides being the supervising dentist at Shoreline's Dental Hygiene Program, she teaches Local Anesthesia and Pain Control, Oral Pathology and Periodontology. She enjoys working with both the first and second year students, and teaches students while doing dental exams for patients at the Shoreline dental hygiene clinic. In her teaching style, she likes to emphasize current concepts and their applications in clinical practice. Her clinical focus is early detection and treatment of oral diseases, as well as the connection of oral and systemic diseases.

| Melinda Lane |
Melinda Lane, RDH, BS
Melinda earned an AAAS in Dental Hygiene from Shoreline Community College in 1975 and a BS in Dental Hygiene from the University of Washington in 1987. She has worked in private practice in various dental offices since 1975. She has also worked at the University of Washington, Department of Oral Medicine doing TMD research since 1987. Melinda began teaching in the Dental Hygiene Program at Shoreline Community College part-time in 1988, and became full-time first year lead faculty and clinic coordinator in 2007. She teaches first year Clinical Dental Hygiene, first year Fundamentals, Patient Records and is coordinator of the Screening Clinic, and Dental Radiology. "It is my hope that all of our students become the best dental hygienists they can be, achieving excellence in their chosen profession."

| Mary Dever |
Mary Dever, RDH
Mary graduated from Shoreline Community College Dental Hygiene program in 1972, and went on to complete her Bachelor's degree at Seattle Pacific University and the University of Washington.
Mary taught restorative dentistry at Yakima Valley Community College for several years and moved to Seattle in 1977. She has worked for many years as a clinical and restorative hygienist before expanding her career into teaching. She began teaching restorative dentistry in 1999, both at Shoreline Community College and at Lake Washington Technical College "Teaching has given me the opportunity to be involved in a community of motivated students that are enthusiastic about excelling in their profession. As part of the teaching team I get to demonstrate and share my knowledge and experience to promote a stimulating and safe place to learn the values and skills that create leaders in Dental Hygiene."
Katie Fleming RDH, BS
Katie graduated from Clark Community College Dental Hygiene Program in Vancouver, Washington in 1996 and earned her Bachelors' of Science in Dental Hygiene from University of Washington in 1997. Katie worked as a full-time clinical dental hygienist in the Vancouver/Portland area and the Greater Seattle area for 11 years before expanding her career into teaching. Additionally, Katie served a 1 year internship through University of Washington working in their DECOD clinic and various community clinics providing specialized treatment to mentally and physically challenged individuals.
Katie began teaching at Shoreline Community College in 2005. She is a 2nd year Clinic and Screening Clinic instructor and specializes in Perioscopy instruction. “I enjoy being part of a wonderful team of instructors and love helping students develop into high caliber dental hygienists.”

| Kelle Moore |
Kelle Moore, RDH, BS
Kellee's dental hygiene career began with receiving a Bachelor of Science degree from Eastern Washington University in 1980. She has spent close to 30 years in clinical practice in Washington and Florida, gaining valuable knowledge and experience. Kellee began teaching 1st year Clinic part-time in Spring 2009 and will continue with Dental Radiology and Fundamentals.
Kellee recognizes the sharing of ideas, discussion and analysis with hands on application results in stimulating trial and error outcomes, a good learning outline. Believing education is a life-long, integral part of a positive and productive journey, Kellee keeps an enthusiastic outlook daily. "Compassion for each individual I reach to achieve optimal oral health is my goal and I hope to instill this in my interaction with students."
"I respect each of my students as capable individuals who can contribute unique perspectives, experiences, knowledge and skills. Students are active participants in the learning process and are responsible for their own learning. I foster critical thinking and prepare my students to function effectively as dental hygienists. Teaching is a process of encouraging students to make connections between their experiences and new information and skills. When this 'discovery process', or connections happen, true education takes place, cultivating the life-long learning skills in our students."

| Hanna Krupa |
Hanna Krupa, RDH, DDS
Hanna graduated from Medical Academy in Gdansk, Poland in 1982 with the degree in dentistry. She graduated in 2004 from the Shoreline Dental Hygiene program after getting settled in Seattle. Hanna began her teaching career in 2005 as a clinical instructor for Restorative Dentistry Clinic at Shoreline. To expand her medical training she completed courses in natural medicine at Bastyr University. Hanna has over 25 years of experience working with patients in Poland and US. She has traveled and volunteered with the International Medical Teams treating patients in Central and South America. She currently works as a clinical and restorative hygienist at Integrative Dentistry, providing Regenerative Periodontal Therapy using holistic modalities.
"Teaching restorative dentistry gives me the opportunity to share my passion and knowledge with the students and provide them with solid training in restorative techniques. My primary goal in my involvement here at Shoreline is seeing students become responsible, caring, knowledgeable and skillful clinicians."

| Kim McLaren |
Kim McLaren, RDH
Kim earned a Bachelors degree in psychology in 1980 from George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia and spent 20 years in computing support and computer programming instruction at the Boeing Company. She developed and delivered multi-media training to a wide variety of students, including international customers. Her second career, dental hygiene, was launched when she graduated from Shoreline Community College.
Kim worked in general practice dental offices throughout the Puget Sound area before choosing full time employment in a Bremerton general practice office. She has enjoyed developing and implementing the periodontal treatment policies for the office, which includes use of the perioscope on periodontally challenged patients. Kim teaches part-time in 1st year Clinical Dental Hygiene. "I enjoy sharing a love of learning with students and am thrilled to be a part of a program that consistently produces high caliber Dental Hygienists."

| Melisa Guerra |
Melisa Guerra, RDH, BS
Melisa earned her AAS and AAAS Degree from Shoreline Community College in 2000 and a Bachelors of Science degree in Dental Hygiene from the University of Washington in 2003. She has practiced primarily in periodontal, surgical, and restorative hygiene. She has lectured locally and nationally and works as a consultant and dental hygiene educator for corporate dental companies. She has been on various advisory boards for multiple dental hygiene programs in the surrounding Seattle area. She returns to Shoreline to teach part time first and second year clinical dental hygiene.

| Patrick Kintner |
Patrick Kintner, DDS, BSPH
Dr. Kintner graduated from the University of Washington with a B.S. degree in public health. After serving as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Africa he returned to the U. of W. to obtain his dental degree in 1983. He then worked for Puget Sound Neighborhood Health Centers for 8 years. While working for PSNHC's he started his private dental practice in the Laurelhurst neighborhood of Seattle where he enjoyed doing restorative and family dentistry for 26 years. In 1990 he had the opportunity to be a visiting instructor at the dental school at the University of Manipal in India. Dr. Kintner teaches the Restorative Dentistry class as well as being one of the clinical instructors. What Dr. Kintner likes best about being at the dental hygiene school is the enthusiasm students show for learning new skills. "Nothing is more fun that being in a room filled with young people excited about learning", he says.

| Robert Wadlin |
Robert Wadlin, DDS
Dr Wadlin received a B.S. from Northeastern State University and his D.D.S. from the University of Oklahoma. He has practiced in Arizona, Oklahoma, Colorado and Washington. He started private practice in the Mt. Vernon area in 1990. His educational experience spans over three decades in multiple settings; including Luke Air Force Base in Arizona, Job Corp at Sedro Woolley, and at the Swinomish Reservation in La Conner. He is currently Clinical Supervising Dentist at Bellingham and Shoreline Dental Hygiene Colleges.

| Jeffrey Janison |
Jeffrey Janison, DDS
Dr. Janison received both his bachelor's in chemistry and his doctor of dental science from the University of Washington.
He serves as a supervising dentist in the restorative dentistry clinic at S.C.C., where he enjoys working one-on one with the hygiene students. He also maintains a full time private practice in Edmonds.

| Divya Rao |
Divya Rao, DDS
Dr.Rao has been practicing Dentistry in Washington state since 2006. She has a postgraduate degree in Oral Medicine and Oral Biology from University of Washington school of Dentistry.
Currently she is working as a restorative dentist at Seattle central and Shoreline community college dental clinics.
She also enjoys teaching basic and advanced pain control procedures and restorative techniques to dental hygiene students.

Margarita Koutsoumbas, DDS
Margarita Koutsoumbas received her Bachelor of Science degree from Northwestern University and her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from University of Illinois at Chicago. She is a supervising dentist at Shoreline Community College, Seattle Central Community College and Lake Washington Technical College. She is also the lead instructor of the Expanded Functions Dental Assistant program at Seattle Central Community College.
