Types of Financial Aid: Grants/Waivers

Grants and tuition waivers are based on need as determined by the FAFSA, do not need to be repaid and available to students who have not already earned a bachelor's degree. Priority for some grants is given to student meeting the early financial aid application deadline. Funds are awarded as available.

 

Federal Pell Grant

Apply by completing FAFSA. Grant range: $400 to $4,731 per year.

This federal grant is available to eligible students enrolled in classes at least 6 credits. In some cases, limited amounts of Pell Grants may be available to students enrolled for less than six credit hours.

 

Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (FSEOG)

Apply by completing FAFSA (funds limited). Grant range: $100- $1,571 per year.

 

This federal grant is available to eligible students enrolled in at least 6 credits. Priority is given to students with the highest financial need, based on date of file completion.

 

Washington State Need Grant

Apply by completing FAFSA (funds limited). Grant range: $1,277 - $2,554 per year.

 

This grant is offered through the Washington State Higher Education Coordinating Board and is awarded to eligible Washington state residents enrolled in at least 6 credits. Some limited grant might be available to students enrolled in 3-5 credits.

 

Tuition Waiver

Apply by completing FAFSA (funds limited). Grant range: $100- $2,100 per year.

 

This tuition waiver is awarded to eligible Washington state residents enrolled in at least 6 credits.

Shoreline Grant

 

Apply by completing FAFSA (funds limited). Grant range: $100- $4,200 per year.

 

This institutional grant is awarded to eligible Washington state residents enrolled in at least 6 credits.
