There will be two components to your homework this quarter: an online portion (WAMAP)
and a paper and pencil portion (PP). Both components are worth equal amounts in the
overall grade calculations. I will drop your lowest PP homework grade and lowest
WAMAP grade when computing grades at the end of the quarter. Please note that some
students may find it helpful or even necessary to do more problems from the book than
I assign. You must be honest with yourself to determine whether you sufficiently
understand the material, and if you don't, read and practice more. To do well in
this class it is essential that you do homework daily. I expect you to spend about
**10 hours** each week on math homework, reading and studying.

Week 10 |

The online protion of the homework will be through a free online program called WAMAP. To get started in WAMAP, you will need to set up a free WAMAP account AND sign
up for my M141 course with Course ID **9674** and Enrollment Key **spring2015**. Please read this for step by step instructions. The online homework will be submitted online weekly
and graded electronically and will be due most Mondays at 11:59p. You will receive
immediate feedback once you submit it. You can redo any incorrect problems an infinite
number of times to improve your score before the deadline. Be sure to do your work
on paper and write complete solutions so that you can review them before tests and
quizzes.

PP homework will be assigned from the section exercises in the text on a weekly basis. It will be collected most Tuesdays at the beginning of class (NO late PP HW will be accepted). You will earn a total of 10 points* for each PP assignment: up to 4 points for completeness of the entire PP assignment and up to 6 points for correctness (three problems will be selected and graded, 2 pts each).

*NOTE: You will earn a 0 on any PP homework assignment that is too hard to read; or if you seem to have mindlessly copies another student's homework; or if you allowed another student to mindlessly copy your work.

In addition to the PP and WAMAP problems, worksheets may be assigned and collected as part of your homework grade. These additional HW assignments, and their due dates, will be listed in the table above.
