Gabriel Rochon Named SCC Baseball Player of the Week:

Freshman Gabriel Rochon has been named the SCC Baseball Player of the Week. The outfielder from Henry Jackson High School in Mill Creek, WA was 7-16 at the plate in four games this weekend, with 4 doubles and a homerun plus 5 RBIs, two stolen bases and one run scored.

SCC went 1-3 over the weekend, beating Blue Mountain Community College of Oregon 15-4 on Saturday, for the team's first win of the year, but then dropping a 6-0 game to BMCC and losing a doubleheader to Walla Walla CC, 5-1 and 12-3.

SCC is 1-12 on the season and opens up NWAACC Northern Region play this weekend with a four game set against Edmonds Community College.

SCC Baseball Is Swept By Walla Walla CC:

The Shoreline Community College Baseball Team was swept by Walla Walla Community College on Sunday in Walla Walla, WA by the scores of 5-1 and 12-3.

The SCC Offense was led by Gabriel Rochon, who was 4-7 at the plate in the double header with 2 doubles. 

Mark Bishop tossed two shutout innings in relief in the 12-3 loss to WWCC.

The Dolphins are now 1-12 on the season and open NWAACC Northern Region play on Saturday at Edmonds CC at 1:00 PM. SCC hosts Edmonds on Sunday at the Meridian Park Field at 1:00 PM as well.


SCC Baseball Wins First Game of the Year

The Dolphins Baseball Team won their first game of the year, beating Blue Mountain CC 15-4 in Pendleton, OR. The SCC squad dropped the second game, 6-0 to the Timberwolves.

In the first game, SCC exploded for 15 runs on 14 hits as Gabriel Rochon led SCC with 3 hits, including a homerun and a double with 5 RBIs. Jordan Padilla had 4 hits and scored 2 runs and David Cavanaugh had a three run homerun. Christian Estabillo had three hits, scored 2 runs and had a RBI as well.

Ryan Garrett pitched 6 innings, allowing 1 earned run and getting the win for SCC. The Dolphins survived giving up 9 walks in the game.

In the second game, the SCC offense was cut in half, with only 7 hits and not being able to score a run. Anthony Ulskey was the only Dolphin with multiple hits, as he went 2 for 3 for the game.

Shoreline is now 1-10 on the season and travels to Walla Walla, WA today to face Walla Walla CC at Noon. SCC opens region play next weekend against rival Edmonds Community College.

Gabriel Rochon Named SCC Baseball Player of the Week:
Freshman Gabriel Rochon from Henry M. Creek High School in Mill Creek, WA has been named SCC Baseball Player of the Week.

Rochon went just 3-12 during a four game road trip over the weekend, but had 2 doubles, 3 walks and scored 3 runs for the Dolphins in four losses. 

SCC dropped three 1 run games: 2-1 and 8-7 to Yakima Valley Community College and 6-5 to Thompson Rivers University plus one 8-2 loss to Thompson Rivers.

SCC travels back to the Eastside of the state this weekend, to face Blue Mountain Community College of Oregon on Saturday and then Walla Walla CC on Sunday.

SCC opens league play on March 31 at Edmonds CC and then plays it first home game of the season on April 1, against Edmonds to wrap up the four game NWAACC Northern Region series. Game time on April 1 is 1:00 PM at Meridian Park.

SCC Baseball Drops Two Games To Thompson Rivers University - 6-5, 8-2

The Dolphin Baseball Team lost two games over the weekend to Thompson Rivers University from Kamloops, BC at the Yakima Valley Community College Tournament.

 Thompson River is a three time Canadian National Champion in baseball.

 

SCC dropped a close opening game with them, 6-5 but then lost 8-2.

The Dolphins drop to 0-9 on the season and travel back to the Eastside of the state to face Blue Mountain Community College on Saturday just across the border in Oregon and then the Dolphins take on Walla Walla Community College on Sunday.

 

SCC opens NWAACC Northern Region play on March 31, as they face Edmonds Community College at Edmonds. Then on Sunday, April 1, the Dolphins play their first home of the season against Edmonds at the new Meridian Park Field at 1:00 PM.

SCC Baseball Drops Two Games To Yakima Valley CC, 1-2 & 7-8

The Shoreline Community College baseball team lost two games over the weekend to Yakima Valley Community College in Yakima, WA.

In the first game, the Dolphins dropped a 2-1 pitching battle between SCC's Willie Davies and four "Yak" pitchers. Davies gave-up two runs in 7 innings, one earned, walking 3 and having 3 strikeouts. Davies scattered 8 hits on the day. Layton Bush pitched a shutout inning for SCC as well.

In the second game, more runs were scored but the Dolphins again lost by 1 run, 8-7. SCC offense was aided by 7 YVCC errors, as the Dolphins only managed 5 hits in the contest.

 

Gabriel Rachon and Christian Estabillo had doubles for SCC while Rachon scored two runs and Estabillo had 2 RBIs.

Ryan Garrett picked up the lost for Shoreline.

 

SCC is now 0-7 on the season and travel back to the east side this upcoming weekend to face Walla Walla CC and Blue Mountain CC on Saturday and Sunday

SCC Baseball Players of the Week, March 1-4 and March 5-11

The Shoreline Community College baseball team has announced their Players of the Week for March 1-4 and March 6-11.

 Jordan Padilla, a sophomore second baseman from Juanita High School in Kirkland, WA, was named SCC Baseball Player of the Week for March 1-4, Padilla went 5 for 11 in three games during the week, including 2 doubles, 2 runs scored and 1 stolen base. The Dolphins dropped game to Vancouver Island College and two games to Everett Community College at the Everett Invitational tournament.

 

For March 6-11, Mark Bishop was named Player of the Week for his performance against Pierce College in a double header loss to the Raiders. Bishop, a freshman pitcher/outfielder from Cedarcrest High School in Duval, WA, had 2 two hits, a RBI, a run scored and a walk in the two games.

 

The Dolphins travel to Yakima Valley Community College to play in a weekend tournament on March 14-15.

SCC Baseball Drops Doubleheader To Pierce, Goes To 0-5 On Season

The Dolphin Baseball Team is off to a slow start in 2012 as the squad is 0-5 on the young season.

SCC opened the season with 3 losses at the Everett tournament, dropping two games to host Everett CC (3-8, 3-7) and one game to Vancouver Island College 2-4.

 

SCC dropped a doubleheader to Pierce College on Sunday at Pierce, 4-9 and 1-8.

 

On Sunday, SCC was led by Skylar Frasier, Mark Bishop and Christian Estabillo who all went 2 for 6 in the doubleheader. Frasier and Estabillo had doubles for the Dolphins.

 

SCC travels to Yakima Valley CC on Saturday and Sunday to play in a tournament with Yakima Valley Community College and Clackamas Community College.
