SCC Baseball Drops Doubleheader on Opening Home Doubleheader:
The Shoreline Community College Baseball Team battled hard on Sunday, in the first home games of the season and the first time SCC has played a baseball game in the city of Shoreline in 15 years, but could not over come the #2 Ranked Team in the NWAACC, as SCC lost 5-3 and 5-1 to rival Edmonds Community College.
With a good crowd on hand and several major league scouts in attendance, as Edmonds rolled two pitcher throwing in the low 90s, SCC was down 3-0 in the first game, but battled back to tie it late and send the game into extra innings, but ECC scored two in the top of the 8th (a 7 inning game) for the win, spoiling a solid pitching performance by SCC's Willie Davies.
In game #2, the Dolphins could not manage much offense in the game and dropped a 5-1 nine inning game to the Tritons.
Shoreline dropped to 1-16 on the season and 0-4 in the region. Edmonds goes to 15-4 on the year and 4-0 in the region.
The schedule does not get much easier for SCC, as they face Everett Community College next weekend in a four game NWAACC Northern Region series. EVCC is ranked #6 in the NWAACC and #19 in the Pacific Region of Junior and Community Colleges.
