As a veteran, a current active duty member, or a dependent of the military, you may be entitled to VA benefits, tuition reductions, or tuition assistance programs while enrolled at Shoreline Community College.
One of the first things you will want to do is apply for your VA education benefits. The VA Certifying Officials are located in the Veterans Programs Office in the Office of Special Services (FOSS Building, Room 5226). They are a great resource to guide you through the complex process of receiving your benefits – from answering questions about the various education benefits and the application and certification process to advocating on your behalf with the VA. If your education benefits are going to be delayed, the Veterans Programs staff will work with you to process tuition payment holds and provide options for financial support during the delay.
As a veteran, you may also qualify for a discount on tuition up to 50% through one of the state waiver programs. Additionally, Shoreline Community College will waive 100% of tuition & fees for the children or spouse of a veteran who has died or become totally disabled in the line of duty.
