What subjects are covered by the Accuplacer and GED tests?

The Accuplacer test covers reading and writing to determine English placement, and math.

The new online GED test covers Reasoning (language arts), math, science and social studies.

 

How long does each test take?

GED:

Reasoning......... 2 hrs. 30 min.
Math.................  1 hr. 55 min.
Science............. 1 hr. 30 min.
Social Studies....1 hr. 30 min.
    

Where can I find study guides for Accuplacer?

GED:  We suggest that you either take a GED preparation course (call 206-546-4602) or use the study guides from the GED website.

What other placement tests does Shoreline Community College accept?

Some scores from Accuplacer are accepted. Contact the Advising Office for more information at 206-546-4559. Shoreline also accepts the ASSET test, a paper version of Compass.
