Position Summary: We are currently hiring for a Full-Time Coding Supervisor. This position will oversee the coding function in the organization, including inpatient psychiatric hospital, outpatient behavioral health, and residential services.

 

Personal Traits: Knowledge of Recovery Orientation and/or Trauma Informed Care; ability to work independently; strong organizational skills; detail oriented; good interpersonal skills; able to coordinate and cooperate with staff in all levels of the organization.

 

Education, Experience, and Certification: Preferred qualifications: National certification or registration in health information management coding from the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) as a Certified Coding Specialist (CCS). Trained in ICD-10. 3-5 years' experience in healthcare coding, with behavioral health experience preferred. Minimum 1 year supervisory experience. Experience and comfort with electronic health systems, and good working knowledge of information technology.

 

Physical Abilities: Able to bend, stoop and lift up to 25 lb. Able to reach over head when standing. Able to accomplish small detailed handwork. Able to communicate effectively in English.

Health Information Technician 2: Records Center

UW Medicine Records Management Services

 

Work Summary:

Under the general direction of the Records Manager, UW Medicine, and the Records Center Analyst, the Records Center Technician performs Records Center and file room activities, including retrieval and delivery of medical records. Ensures accurate data entry into database systems such as ORCA and ImageCast. The Records Center Technician receives, shelves, pulls, moves, organizes, and disposes medical and other records being managed at the Records Center.  Acts as courier for records pick-ups and deliveries when necessary, and assists with records dispositions.

 

Preferred Requirements:

BA degree and/or certification in related field.

Ability to operate basic functions of database software and handheld scanners.

Experience in driving and loading vans.

Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and Outlook.

Conditions of Employment:

Must be able to lift and transport boxes of up to 40 lbs. daily.

Must be able to lift and move boxes up warehouse stair ladders daily.

Must have a valid Washington State Driver's License and must be able to drive a UW Fleet Van.
