Christine Shafner

Christine has been teaching at Shoreline since 1996 in animation, illustration, page layout, game art, and several foundation courses. She acquired her degrees from the University of Michigan (BFA in Sculpture, MFA in Medical and Biological Illustration). Past illustrations have been published in nursing textbooks, elementary educational titles, and multiple surgical atlases and journals.

On campus, Christine's role as educator gives her the opportunity to teach complex technical software and illustration techniques. Supporting these creative students who reach Shoreline, and opening pathways to success in the visual arts, is her goal. She is especially proud of the current student semifinalists in the international Adobe Design Achievement Awards, and the ‘Best in the Nation’ awards earned by the student team who designed the art and literary journal, Spindrift.
