Mateo Zachai received his BFA in Interdisciplinary Studies at the San Francisco Art Institute, 1997 and MFA in Photography at Yale University in 1999. Since then he had been a teaching assistant in photography at Yale School of Art and an instructor for the Art-Zones photography program at Bellevue Community College as well as Photographic Center Northwest in Capitol Hill. Mateo has exhibited his work in both group and solo shows on the east and west coasts. He enjoys art in all its forms including painting, sculpture, printmaking, drawing and video, and explores the connection between these mediums. Mateo’s photographic work is in many private collections. Most recently his work was profiled in Seattle’s the Stranger in an article entitled "The Crime of Dining."
