Spindrift, Shoreline Community College’s award-winning art and literary journal, has been publishing student, local and regional art and literature since 1966. It is designed and compiled in the Visual Arts building by a team of students who hold a jury show each January to select the published artists. The literary works within Spindrift are selected and paired with this creative art and showcases the quality of our student work.
Spindrift has placed top in the nation among community colleges for two years in a row. Most recently, Spindrift 2010 won first place in the Community College Humanities Association’s Pacific-Western Division competition and was named the National winner in the CCHA Literary Magazine Competition.
2010 was the sixth year that Spindrift placed in either first or third position in the regional competition.
