SCC Names Caitlin Roussopolos And Hannah Stranger As "Women's Basketball Players of the Week"
Shoreline Community College announced today that sophomore Caitlin Roussopolos and freshman Hannah Stanger were named SCC Women's Basketball Players of the Week for the week of December 17-23.
Roussopolos, a forward from forward from Nampa Christian High School in Meridan, ID, scored 5 points, had 12 rebounds with 2 assists and 4 steals against Douglas College on Tuesday, December 18th in a 52-48 loss for the Lady Dolphins.
Stanger, a freshman post player from Burley High
School in Murtaush, ID, also scored 5 points, had 10 rebounds, 2 assists and had a blocked shot in the game against Douglas College.
SCC finished the pre-region schedule with a 6-4 record and next will play Everett Community College on January 5 at EVCC in the opening NWAACC Northern Region game of the year.

Four New SCC Women's Basketball Games Now On YouTube
Four new SCC Women's Basketball Games are now available on YouTube.
The three games in the NWAACC Crossover Tournament at Columbia Basin College in Pasco, WA are now ready for viewing, as the Lady Dolphins drop their opening game to Southwestern Oregon CC, but rally to beat Green River CC and Edmonds CC to finish the tournament 2-1 and the consolation bracket winner.
Also available is the SCC WBB Game Vs Douglas College in the SCC Gym. The SCC squad drops a tough 52-48 game to the Royals at home.

Lady Dolphins Drop 52-48 Game To Douglas College:
The Shoreline Community College Women's Basketball Team dropped a 52-48 game on Tuesday night in the SCC Gym to Douglas College from Vancouver, BC.
The first half was a defensive struggle, as SCC was held to 13 points and shot only 13.9% for the half. Shoreline held DC to 19 points and 28.6% shooting as well.
The second half had a bit more offense, and the lead changed several times going down the stretch, but SCC brought the ball down three times with under 2 minutes to play and did not get off a shot because of turnovers and Douglas was escape the SCC Gym with a win.
SCC had no double figure scorers and was led by Maile Keanu and Emily Wilbur with 9 points each. Caitlin Roussopolos had 12 rebounds for the Dolphins while Hannah Stanger added 10.
SCC falls to 6-4 on the season and ends the non-region portion of their schedule. SCC plays next at Everett Community College on January 5th in the NWAACC Northern Region opener for both teams. SCC next plays at home on January 9th against Bellevue College.

Emily Wilbur Named SCC Women's Basketball Player of the Week
Shoreline Community College Named freshman Emily Wilbur as the "SCC Women's Basketball Player of the Week on Sunday.
Wilbur scored 46 points in three games at Crossover with 22 rebounds, 3 steals and 3 assists. SCC won 2 out of 3 games at the tournament to finish 4th at the event.
The Lady Dolphins play Tuesday night in the SCC Gym against Douglas College at 7:00pm.

Lady Dolphins Defeat Edmonds 68-54 Behind Keanu's 18 Points:
The Shoreline Community College Women’s Basketball Team defeated Edmonds Community College 68-54 on Sunday at the NWAACC Crossover Tournament in Pasco, WA at Columbia Basin College. The game was for the Consolation Final (4th Place) at the tournament.
The Lady Dolphins for a second day in a row won the game at the free-throw line, hitting 19 of 25 free-throws for 76% while Edmonds only hit 46% of their free-throws, 11 of 24.
SCC was led by freshman Maile Keanu who scored 18 points with 5
rebounds. Emily Wilbur finished a strong tournament with 13 points and 6 rebounds on the day. Bianca Benavides scored 11 with 4 assists from her point guard position.
The Dolphins finished the Crossover with a 2-1 record, after losing the opening game to SW Oregon, they defeated Green River on Saturday. Edmonds CC finished the Crossover with a 1-2 record and are 4-5 overall.
The SCC squad is now 6-3 on the season and ends their pre-region schedule on Tuesday night at home against Douglas College. The Royals defeated SCC earlier this season in Vancouver, BC 58-41. SCC Women's Basketball Plays Edmonds Today In NWAACC Crossover:
The Lady Dolphin Basketball Team plays rival Edmonds Community College today in the NWAACC Crossover at Columbia Basin College in Pasco, WA for the consolation championship of the tournament.
SCC lost the opening game of the tournament, 81-72 to Southwestern Oregon CC but then defeated Green River CC 51-38 to reach the consolation finals.
Edmonds lost to Clackamas CC 97-34 in the opening round then defeated Treasure Valley CC to meet SCC.
Emily Wilbur has had two good games for SCC at the Crossover, scoring 33 points with 16 rebounds.
SCC is 5-3 on the season and Edmonds is 3-3.

Lady Dolphins Beat Green River At Crossover 51-38
The Shoreline Community College Women's Basketball Team defeated Green River Community College 51-38 this afternoon in the NWAACC Crossover Tournament at Columbia Basin College in Pasco, WA
The Dolphins were led by Emily Wilbur with 16 points and 7 rebounds while Maiie Keanu added 8 points and 9 boards.
SCC will play rival Edmonds Community College tomorrow at Noon for the consolation final of the tournament.
SCC moved to 5-3 on the season while Green River fell to 0-7. Edmonds will come into tomorrow's game with a 3-3 record.
Lady Dolphins Loses To Southwestern Oregon 81-72
The Shoreline Community College Women's Basketball Team were defeated by Southwestern Oregon 81-72 on Friday night in the NWAACC Crossover Tournament at Columbia Basin College in Pasco, WA.
Shoreline only trailed by 2 points with 2 minutes to go, but turnovers and missed shots doomed the Dolphins down the stretch.
SCC shot better in the game, making 42% of their shots, but SWOCC had a big advantage in freethrows, being sent to the line 35 times and making 22, while SCC only shot 12 freethrows, making 6.
Shoreline was led by Hannah Stanger with 17 points and 12 rebounds, while Emily Wilbur was almost equally good, with 17 points and 9 rebounds. Chelsea Padgett scored 12 points, the only other Dolphins in double figures.
SCC is 4-3 on the season now and face winless Green River Community College today at 3:00pm. If SCC wins today, they will play tomorrow at Noon in the consolation final. If SCC loses today, they are finished in the tournament. GRCC lost to host Columbia Basin College 71-42 on Friday.

SCC Women's Basketball Has Three Players In Top 20 Categories
The Shoreline Community College Women's Basketball Team has three players in three Top 20 Categories for NWAACC Stats this season:
Freshman Bianca Benavides is #13 in the league in Assists with 4.17 per game.
Freshman Ashley Savusa is also #13 in steals with 18 this season.
And Freshman Hannah Stanger is #15 in rebounds an average of 8 per game.
The Lady Dolphins are 4-2 on the season and travel to the NWAACC Crossover Tournament in Pasco, WA next weekend at Columbia Basin College, where the SCC Squad faces Southwest Oregon in the opening round at 8pm next Friday.

SCC Names Maile Keanu "Women's Basketball Player of the Week"
Shoreline Community College named freshman Maile Keanu as the Women's Basketball Player of the Week for December 3-9.
Keanu, a 6 foot tall post player from South Kitsap High School, scored 16 points in two games for the Lady Dolphins, pulled down 13 rebounds with 4 assists, 2 blocked shots and 5 steals.
The SCC squad suffered their first two losses of the season, 58-41 to Douglas College in Vancouver, BC on Tuesday and then to TEAM NPIRE, a Australian club team, 74-62 in the SCC Gym.
The Lady Dolphins travel to Pasco, WA next weekend to open play in the NWAACC Crossover Tournament. SCC faces SW Oregon CC in the opening round at 8:00pm next Friday. The tournament features 8 teams from all four of the NWAACC regions.

SCC Women's Basketball Drops Second Straight Game:
The Australian Club Team, TEAM NPIRE, defeated SCC women's basketball on Thursday night in the SCC Gym 74-62.
NPIRE jumped on SCC early, using a full court passing game to beat the SCC d
efense down the court on the way to a 40-23 half-time lead. SCC made one run at NPIRE, drawing within 6 points, but the Australians pushed back to lead by 10 points or more the rest of the way.
SCC was led by Maria Ciriaca with 12 points, followed by Bianca Benavides and Maile Keanu with 10 points each. Keanu also led the team in rebounds with 8.
SCC next plays in the NWAACC Crossover next weekend in Pasco, WA at Columbia Basin College. SCC plays Southwest Oregon CC in the opening round.
SCC Basketball Plays Australia Today
The SCC Dolphins play Australia today in the SCC Gym. Team NPIRE, a club team from Australia will face the Lady Dolphins at 5:30pm and the male version of the club will take on the SCC Men's Basketball Team at 7:30pm.
The Lady Dolphins are coming into the game with a 4-1 record, but dropping their last game to Douglas College on Tuesday night, 58-41 in Vancouver, BC and only shooting 22% on the night.
The SCC Men's Basketball Team is 0-5 and come off a weekend of giving up 130 an 132 points to two talented Seattle based club teams, the Mountaineers and Blue Angels.

The Shoreline Community College Women's Basketball Team's 4 game winning streak came to end on Tuesday night in Canada, as the Lady Dolphins dropped a 58-41 game to the Royals of Douglas
The Lady Dolphins were led by Emiley Wilbur and Chelsea Padgett who both scored 8 points on the night. Wilbur and Hannah Stanger had 7 rebounds each as well.
SCC is now 4-1 on the season and play Thursday night in the SCC Gym against TEAM NPIRE, an Australian Club team at 5:30pm. Douglas goes to 7-3 on the season. SCC plays Douglas again on December 18th in the SCC Gym.

SCC Women's Basketball Travels To Douglas College Tonight
The Shoreline Community College Women's Basketball Team goes international tonight, as they face Douglas College in New Westminster, BC at 6:00pm.
SCC is 4-0 on the young season and faces their first true challenge in the Royals, as DC comes into the game with a 6-2 record on the season.
The Lady Dolphins are led by Chelsea Padgett with a 10.50 points per game average. She is the only Dolphin averaging in double figures, but SCC has a balanced attacked, featuring 8 players that score between 5 and 9.75 points per game. Hannah Stanger has been a force on the boards, averaging 9.25 rebound per game.
But SCC needs to improve shooting, as the team only averages 34% from the floor and 27% from three point range.

SCC Names Benavides and Stanger As Co-Players of the Week
Shoreline Community College named women's basketball players Bianca Benavides and Hannah Stanger as SCC Co-Women's Basketball Players of the Week.
Benavides, a freshman from Foster High School in Tukwila, WA, scored 28 points in two games for SCC with 15 rebounds, 6 assists and 9 steals while Stanger, another freshman from Burley High School in Murtaush, ID, scored 20 points with 19 rebounds, 6 assists and 1 steal in two victories for the Lady Dolphins during the week.
SCC is off to a 4-0 start and will travel to Douglas College on Tuesday to face the Royals in Vancouver, BC.

Balanced Attack Leads SCC Women's Basketball To 4th Straight Win
The Shoreline Community College Women's Basketball Team won its 4th straight game of the season with a balanced offensive attack on Saturday at Portland Community College, as the Lady Dolphins defeated the Panthers 60-49.
Emily Wilbur scored 13 to lead SCC while Deja Davis added 12 and Bianca Benavides and Marie Ciriaco added 10 points each. Hannah Stanger brought down 9 rebounds to lead in the Dolphins on the boards.
Shoreline is now 4-0 on the season and travel to New Westminster, Canada on Tuesday to face Douglas College.

SCC Women's Basketball Tries To Stay Undefeated Today
The Lady Dolphin Basketball Team travels to Portland, OR today to play the Portland Community College Panthers in a rematch of last Saturday's game between to the two teams.
SCC is 3-0 and defeated PCC 68-58 in the SCC Gym last Saturday.
Shoreline is led by sophomore Caitlin Roussopolos and freshman Chelea Padget who both average 12.33 points per game. Hannah Stanger 9.33 rebounds per game and Maile Keanu 8.33 rebounds per game control the boards for the Dolphins and Deja Davis 3.67 steals per game and Ashley Savusa 3.00 steals per game head up the defense as the Lady Dolphins show more depth and overall ability than the past several seasons.
Portland is 0-4 on the season. Game time is 4:00pm.
