Freshman Alia Kelly was named SCC Softball Player of the Week for her accomplishments at the NWAACC Western Inter-Regional Softball Tournament over the weekend.
Kelly, a pitcher/shortstop from Lake Stevens High School, had 3 homeruns over the weekend with a double as well. She was also the winning pitcher in a game and pitched 2 innings of shut-out relief in another game.
SCC went 2-2 over the weekend, defeating defending NWAACC Champion, Mt. Hood Community College, 14-7 and beating Chemeketa CC 5-4. The Dolphins dropped games to Southwest Oregon CC (being no-hit) 8-0 and Clark College 10-6.
SCC plays again on Tuesday, April 3 at Douglas College in New Westminister, BC. SCC plays at home again April 10, against rival Bellevue College at 1:00 PM at Shoreview Park.

SCC Softball Routs Edmonds CC 12-1 and 15-0:
The Lady Dolphin Softball Team opened NWAACC Northern Region play with a easy sweep of the Edmonds CC Tritons on Tuesday at the Edmonds CC Sports Complex.
The undermanned Tritons were not sure they could even field a team until Tuesday morning, as they added a 9th player before the game.
SCC put ECC away in the first game in the 4th inning, breaking up a somewhat tight 4-1 game with an 8 run inning. Nicole Reyling led SCC with 3 doubles in the game and scored 2 runs. Chelsea Lindroth had a 3 run triple and one more RBI to drive in four runs for Shoreline as well. Alia Kelly picked up the win on the mound for the Dolphins while striking out 5.
In the second game, SCC did not score in the 1st inning, but scored 5 in the second and 10 in the 3rd to win the game, as Edmonds stop the game at that point.
4 SCC players had 2 hits each with Sophia Overstock-Pauley having 2 doubles as did Catelyn Ward. Chelsea Lindroth drove in another 3 runs to give her 7 for the day. Overlock-Pauley pitched two shutout innings for the win.
SCC is now 7-6-2 on the year, 2-0 in the region. SCC plays again next Tuesday vs Douglas College in Vancouver, BC. Douglas is a member of the NWAACC Northern Region in softball (and baseball). SCC plays its first region home game on April 10th, vs region power and rival, Bellevue College.

SCC Softball Goes 2-2 At NWAACC Western Inter-Region Tournament
The Lady Dolphin Softball Team went 2-2 at the NWAACC Western Inter-Region Tournament on Saturday and Sunday.
SCC opened the tournament with a 14-7 win over defending NWAACC Champions, Mt. Hood Community College, but then dropped games to Southwestern Oregon CC (0-8) and Clark College (6-10). SCC then defeated Chekemeta CC 5-4 on Sunday to finish the tournament with a 2-2 record.
SCC is 5-6-2 on the season. SCC opens NWAACC Northern Region play on Tuesday, at Edmonds CC at 3:00 PM.

SCC Names Overlock-Paulie, Reyling and Brewer As Softball Players of the Week
For March 1-4, Vallen Brewer was named SCC Softball Player of the Week. Brewer, a outfielder from Lake Stevens High School batted has batted.393 for NWAACC Pre-season tournament at Richland, WA. For the year, Brewer has 13 hits in 9 games with 4 doubles and 1 triple had has walked 3 times.
During the week of March 5-12, SCC named Co-Softball Players of the Week, as sophomore pitcher/outfielder Sophie Overlock-Pauley and freshman catcher Nicole Reyling split the award.
Overlock-Pauley from Ballard High School leads the team in hits with 15 and a .500 batting average to go along with 8 walks. Four of her hits have been doubles.
Reyling has 9 hits with 2 doubles and 2 homeruns. The catcher from Monroe High School also has picked off 10 runners in 9 games.
SCC is 3-4-2 on the season so far.
The Lady Dolphins were rained out this weekend but return to action on Saturday and Sunday of this week, at Centralia College in the NWAACC Western Inter-Region Tournament. SCC plays on Saturday at 5:00 PM and 7:00 PM against Southwestern Oregon CC and Clark College. On Sunday morning, the Dolphins face Clackamas and Chemeketa Community Colleges.

SCC Softball Receives One Vote In NWAACC Poll
The Lady Dolphin Softball Team received one vote in the recent NWAACC Top 8 Poll. Walla Walla CC is the #1 Ranked team in the NWAACC, receiving 72 points in the ballot, to include 5 first place votes. Wenatchee Valley CC was ranked #2.
Northern Region foes Bellevue College (#6) and Everett CC (#8) were represented in the top 8. Olympic College, another Northern Region team received two votes but was unranked like SCC.
SCC is off to a 3-4-2 record in the first two weeks of the season.

Lady Dolphin Softball Goes 1-2 At Yakima Valley Round-Robin
The Lady Dolphin Softball Team won one game and lost two on Saturday at the Yakima Valley CC Round-Robin. SCC opened the 3 game event with a 7-3 loss to host Yakima Valley and then dropped a high scoring affair with the Community Colleges of Spokane, 9-7, before defeating Pierce College 8-5.
Against Yakima, Nicole Reyling, Sophie Overlock-Pauley and Syrina Bailey had 2 hits each. In the game against Spokane, Vallen Brewer and Catelyn Ward had two hits and Jarryn Vannatta hit two doubles and Nicole Reyling homered for the Dolphins.
In the victory against Pierce College, Alia Kelly recorded 5 strikeouts from the mound and collected 2 singles while Sophie Overlock-Pauley had two hits as well and Vallen Brewer and Nicole Reyling had doubles.
SCC's record is now 3-4-2 on the season. SCC travels to Vancouver, WA to play in the South Region Inter-Regional Tournament.

SCC Softball Is Swept In Home Openers 10-7 and 9-5 By Big Bend CC
Nikki Reyling had 3 hits for SCC while Alia Kelly had two hits to include a homerun. Carly Grant added a homerun as well.
In the second games, Big Bend continued the offensive explosion, putting up 9 runs and the Lady Dolphins came up short, only scoring 5 runs in the nightcap.
SCC is now 2-2-2 on the season and travel to Yakima Valley CC on Saturday for three games against Yakima, the CC of Spokane and Pierce College.

SCC Softball Opens Season 2-0-2 At NWAACC Preseason Tournament
SCC opened the season with a 17-3 win over Pierce College and then defeated Big Bend CC 7-4 on Saturday. On Sunday, SCC had a back and forth game with Columbia Basin College, but after 9 innings, the game was a called a tie due to the time limit in place for the tournament. SCC then had a 3-1 lead on Yakima Valley Community College, but the Yaks rallied for 2 runs in the 7th to tie the game and again, the time limit expired and the game was called a tie.
SCC plays Big Bend CC on Thursday at Shoreveiw Park at 1:00 PM.
